Ubitium's Universal Processor: The Future of Computing
Ubitium, a startup founded by veterans of the semiconductor industry, is developing a universal processor that aims to replace CPU, GPU, FPGA, and DSP with a single chip.
Built on RISC-V architecture, this processor is designed to handle any computational workload, making it versatile enough for a wide range of applications in microelectronics.
Ubitium engineers promise that this chip will power a family of processors with varying sizes and performance levels, but all sharing the same microarchitecture and software stack. This consistency is a major advantage, allowing the same chip to be used in everything from automotive onboard computers to smart home devices.
With $3.7 million in funding, Ubitium is set to accelerate its development, and if all goes well, the first commercial processors are expected to launch in 2026.

They were named with the omission of the number 2, due to possible legal problems with the British operator O2, which registered the brand. OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman said the choice of names follows the company's tradition.

AI will monitor wildlife to protect endangered animal species
Scientists have begun using artificial intelligence to monitor endangered species in the most remote corners of the planet. One prime example is a project aimed at protecting spider monkeys in Costa Rica.
Biologist Jenna Lawson installed 350 audio monitors in the forests of the Osa Peninsula to record the sounds of nature and observe the behavior of these rare animals. The data collected proved t
