Snappy's new device turns a smartphone into a professional camera
The Snappy gadget is designed by Hong Kong-based manufacturer Buddiesman. It promises to add functionality to a smartphone similar to real cameras.
The Snappy is a motorized device with a spring-loaded clip that holds the smartphone securely on the sides, allowing phones of different sizes to be used without having to remove the cases. The comfortable rubberized handle provides comfort during use, and the swivel mechanism allows you to easily switch between landscape and portrait orientation.
A wheel on the back of the device allows you to change photo and video modes, as well as control the digital zoom. The shutter button on the top of the grip allows you to take photos and record video. In addition, you can control the camera remotely via Bluetooth up to 10 meters away.
The Snappy also features a gyroscopically controlled single-axis stabilizer that automatically maintains the horizontal axis of the phone while shooting. On the front of the device is an LED ring light with adjustable color temperature and intensity.
Other features of the Snappy include a threaded hole for a tripod, the ability to use the device's battery to charge the phone, and a jack for connecting additional accessories.
The Snappy is available on Kickstarter for $89. The planned retail price will be $149
