Smart sockets created to monitor security without cameras
Threshold Care has introduced innovative sockets that can track movement in rooms without the use of cameras. The new technology is called Motion.
The devices create a monitoring zone in the apartment, capturing the movements of people and pets. When someone moves, it causes interference in the Wi-Fi signal, which allows the outlet to notify the owner of the presence of a person in the room.
The development aims to help low-mobility people by providing security without the discomfort associated with video surveillance. In the app, users can view two weeks of movement history and receive real-time data. However, it is not possible to unplug through the app - it must be done manually.
The bundle includes 3 devices and is priced at $60. Motion do not require special installation. It is enough to connect them to the existing ones and use them as regular outlets. They have inputs for plugs.
