Apptronik has announced the launch of the Apollo humanoid robot. It will be involved in the production of its brethren.
As part of a partnership with global engineering firm Jabil, known for manufacturing components for giants such as Apple, Dell and HP, Apollo robots will be employed on Jabil's assembly lines, including the lines that produce the robots themselves.
Apollo is 173 cm tall and can carry loads weighing up to 25 kg. The robot should demonstrate its efficiency by performing simple and repetitive intralogistics tasks such as inspection, sorting and delivery of materials. Its functionality will be expanded in the future.
Apptronik has raised $350,000,000 in Series A funding to scale Apollo manufacturing. The company is also reportedly working with Google DeepMind to add intelligence to the robot.
Although the cost of Apollo has not yet been disclosed, it is expected to be competitive with similar models on the market
