Toyota's latest innovation: an exercise chair for muscle training
Toyota has introduced a chair that can train muscles while sitting. It allows you to use muscles that are most often inactive while sitting.
The chair is equipped with an uneven base, one of whose three support legs is shorter than the others, creating a barely noticeable tilt. This helps to activate the body's postural reflexes, forcing the pelvis to adapt and keep the head in a stable position.
This innovative technology mimics strengthening workouts with a balance ball, providing continuous muscle activity without much effort on the part of the user. The developers claim that such continuous subconscious movements can reduce the health risks associated with prolonged sitting and help regain lost physical abilities.
For now, it's only a prototype. Whether the chair will appear on the mass market and at what cost has not been announced.
