Tencent Walking Robot will help the elderly in their daily lives
Engineers from the robotics division of the Chinese company Tencent have developed a hybrid humanoid robot assistant Xiaowu. The robot is equipped with four extensible telescopic legs with wheels on the ends, touch-sensitive “skin”, humanoid arms with five fingers and a system of safe physical interaction with humans. Xiaowu can move quickly on wheels, walk on uneven terrain using its legs, carry objects and perform complex tasks in a real living environment while interacting with people.
