Slovenian company Pipistrel has reported the successful first flight of its hybrid-electric cargo drone Nuuva V300, the drone was tested in hover mode. The Nuuva V300 has a twin-tower design with eight propellers for vertical takeoff and landing and one pusher propeller in the tail for horizontal flight.

It will be able to take off from unprepared sites and carry up to 272 kilograms of cargo up to 555 kilometers. The cargo bay is centrally located and has a volume of about three cubic meters, which allows it to accommodate up to three pallets of cargo, loaded through the nose of the fuselage. A second Nuuva V300 is due to begin testing later this year
