Saudi Arabia has demonstrated how to create an artificial lake in the middle of the desert
The Saudi Arabian Territory Development Agency, NEOM, has reported that they are currently working on creating an artificial lake with a length of 2.8 kilometers for the 2029 Asian Winter Games. The lake will be located in a mountainous area about 50 kilometers from the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba at an altitude between 1,500 and 2,600 meters.
In addition to the artificial reservoir, which will turn into a huge ice rink during the games, a luxury hotel, residential area, restaurants, conference hall, and other facilities will be built near the lake.
