The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted approval to Precision Neuroscience for the Layer 7 Cortical Interface brain implant.

After surgery, the implant sits on the surface of the brain without damaging brain tissue. Initially, it will be used to help patients with severe paralysis to regain speech and limb movements.

For now, Precision Neuroscience is authorized to implant the implant in patients for up to 30 days for clinical trials
