MIT engineers invented a smart furniture that changes the shape
Engineers from MIT Media Lab's Tangible Media Group have developed innovative “smart” furniture. It is able to adapt to the different needs of the owner.
The unique tabletop design learns and understands the user's preferences. Built-in artificial intelligence recognizes human desires and modifies the surface, creating stands for laptop and phone. The system uses multiple sensors and cameras to read movements and gestures. For example, if the user often works with documents and a tablet, the table independently forms a comfortable place to work, providing an optimal viewing angle and ergonomics.
In addition, the developers paid attention to data security: all personal settings are stored using modern encryption technologies, preventing unauthorized access.
The technology also takes into account the time of day and the level of light in the room, automatically adjusting the light panels for comfortable work or rest.
