Microsoft will have its own nuclear power plant to power its data centers
The technology giant has entered into an agreement with the owner of the decommissioned Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, under which it will be restored and turned on by 2028. Interestingly, one of the power units of this plant was mothballed after the largest accident in the history of the US nuclear power industry in 1979, and the second one operated until 2019, but then was closed due to financial problems.
