GelSight and Meta AI release Digit 360 tactile sensor for robotic fingers
GelSight, a developer of tactile technology, and Meta AI have announced Digit 360, a new tactile sensor for robotic fingers. This marks the next stage in their partnership, which began in 2021 with the introduction of the Digit tactile sensor.
Digit 360 has more than 18 sensing capabilities. The companies say these will lead to advances in touch perception research, allowing researchers to combine or isolate different sensing technologies for more in-depth analysis.
The new tactile lens can detect imprints around the artificial fingertip and capture more detailed information about the surface being touched.

Snake-Like Robot Set to Revolutionize Rescue Missions
Developed at ETH Zürich’s Autonomous Systems Lab, the RoBoa robot is poised to reshape emergency response and inspection work. This snake-like robot moves smoothly through tight spaces—whether pipes, channels, or disaster rubble—using soft materials and compressed air for propulsion, making it safe for human contact and suitable for high-risk environments where sparks must be avoided.
