3D-PRINTED AIRLESS GEN1 BASKETBALL FROM WILSON

US sports equipment manufacturer Wilson Sporting Goods Co. has announced the launch of its 3D printed Airless Gen1 airless basketball. According to the company, the ball is fully functional and meets the weight, size and bounce requirements for NBA balls.

Like the prototype the company unveiled early last year at the 2023 NBA Slam Dunk event, the 3D printed basketball was developed in collaboration with 3D design specialists General Lattice, 3D printer manufacturer EOS, and post-processing company DyeMansion. The main production partner for the product launch was California-based SNL Creative.

The Airless Gen1 3D printed lattice structure consists of eight elements. Airless Gen1 will be available in black, brown and off-white natural colors.

The new product will sell in a limited edition at a price of $2500.
