US tested an unmanned airship for Internet distribution
The 65-meter-long device can climb up to 19 kilometers and fly continuously for months, powered by solar panels. It is primarily designed to provide mobile communications to hard-to-reach places, but will also monitor changes in the climate.
If all goes according to plan, it will be put into commercial operation as early as next year
