Toyota completes construction of the city of the future in Japan
In Japan, construction of a unique laboratory city called Woven City is nearing completion. It will utilize advanced technologies - robots, artificial intelligence and automated waste disposal systems.
Toyota started to create this "city of the future" at the foot of Mount Fuji in early 2021 with plans to complete the project by the summer of 2024. The initial plan is to pilot and begin testing the latest communication and smart logistics technologies, including smartphone applications linked to delivery robots.
Woven City residents will use robotics and artificial intelligence to automate everyday tasks, such as automatically replenishing food in the refrigerator and taking out the trash.
It will initially house about 360 people, but the population is expected to grow to 2,000 residents in the future. Among them will be the company's employees, engineers and researchers, who will closely follow the development of the city and test new technologies in real time
