Tiles is a music center with Cover flow from an iPod

Designer and prototype developer Kai van den Acker presented Tiles, a music player where album artwork plays a big part.

The device consists of two parts: the upper part has a screen where you can select an album, single or EP in a mode similar to the iPad’s Cover Flow. The lower part shows you what is currently playing.

It is controlled either by a touch panel on top or by a special ring.

The whole construction is prototyped in ProtoPie and built on Arduino components.
