Tesla looks for operators to remotely control autonomous robotaxis

Tesla has announced the launch of a new unmanned cab called Cybercab. However, an interesting vacancy has been spotted on the company's official website that raises questions about the actual degree of autonomy of these vehicles.
The company is looking for operators who will be responsible for remotely controlling the vehicles. It is also in their area of responsibility to provide access to robotaxis to both humans and robots. The job description states that operators will be able to “navigate” the Cybercab using state-of-the-art VR equipment.
The company does not specify how this will affect the cars' level of autonomy. According to Tesla representatives, cars and robots function autonomously in challenging environments. With the advancement of artificial intelligence, it is necessary to enable remote access and control.
A similar scheme is already used by other players in the autonomous transportation market, such as Cruise, Waymo and Zoox
