Switzerland Unveils Revolutionary SF-1 Aircraft with Interchangeable Nose Modules and Engines
Smartflyer, a Swiss startup, has introduced the SF-1, a groundbreaking electric training aircraft with a truly innovative design.
The SF-1 allows for easy replacement of nose modules, including the aircraft's power systems. This flexibility enables quick adaptation to different flight needs, from electric to hybrid configurations.
Equipped with a pusher propeller at the tail, the SF-1 boasts reduced drag and increased flight efficiency.
The base version features a 215 hp electric motor, offering up to 2.5 hours of flight at speeds of up to 222 km/h. The hybrid configuration with a gasoline generator extends the range to 800 km.
The first flight of the SF-1 is set for fall 2025, with mass production expected by 2028. The aircraft's potential is already being recognized, with FlyOnE from Australia placing an order for 30 units.
