Solar panel charging blanket for electric cars invented
GoSun has announced a new product, the EV Solar Charger, which allows electric vehicles to be charged without plugging into the grid. The unique system installed on the roof of the car increases the charging power by 6 times.
The charger is a box with 200-watt solar panels. The driver can deploy it like a blanket on the windshield, hood and trunk. This will not only increase the charge, but also the total power up to 1,200W in parking conditions without connecting to a charging station.
Although GoSun does not position its device as a replacement for ultra-fast charging equipment, but according to the manufacturer, it can provide an increase in driving range of up to 50 kilometers per day under optimal conditions. In addition, the panels also help shade the windshield and rear window, which helps keep the car's interior temperature comfortable in hot weather.
Pre-orders for the EV Solar Charger are already open. Its retail price is $2,999
