Scientists create kamikaze satellite for €3 million
Its sole purpose is to burn up epically in the atmosphere immediately after launch.
The mission is planned for 2027 and is organized by the European Space Agency. The main goal is to study in detail how the apparatus will fall apart, so that in the future to create easily disintegrating satellites and reduce the amount of debris in orbit.
For this purpose, the washing machine-sized satellite will be equipped with 200 sensors, four cameras and an ultra-secure black box that will be able to store all the data.
