Samsung has launched a large-scale advertising campaign in London, timed to coincide with the launch of its new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6. It featured a unique art object - a folding London bus that is “folded” at a 90-degree angle, raising its rear end almost 6 meters off the ground.
The process of developing the main art object took about 2 months. A Samsung spokesperson said that to celebrate the launch of the new smartphone series, a number of unexpected solutions were created to attract the attention of customers.
The bus artwork was created by artist Caspar Phillips, taking into account the actual size of the single-decker vehicle. The other elements of the installation were designed by designer Jem Hughes and installed in London.
In addition to the bus, several other iconic London objects - a red telephone box, a lamppost and a bench - were “stacked” for promotional purposes. The Old Street tube station has also been temporarily renamed Fold Street.
The installation will be available for viewing in London until July 27, and the renamed tube station will remain with its new name until July 28.
