New rigid material from Swiss scientists can absorb vibration and noise
Researchers at the Swiss University of Technology Zurich have presented a unique composite material that effectively absorbs noise and vibration. It has a rigid structure, which makes it suitable for applications such as aerospace engineering.
It consists of ultra-thin rubber-like layers based on polydimethylsiloxane bonded with silicon and glass plates 0.2-0.3 mm thick. The damping polymer layers are less than 1% of the total volume of the material. Also, the polymer used is thermally stable and can withstand a wide range of temperatures without changing its damping properties.
The operation of trains and automobiles produces vibrations that can destroy structures. Engineers usually use damping materials, but they can increase the weight and cost of products and do not always provide the necessary efficiency.
The scientists are confident of the wide range of applications for their invention, from window panes to car bodies and aerospace components. In addition, the technology is easily scalable, making it possible to create panels as small as a few square meters with minimal effort.

Smart sockets created to monitor security without cameras
Threshold Care has introduced innovative sockets that can track movement in rooms without the use of cameras. The new technology is called Motion.
The devices create a monitoring zone in the apartment, capturing the movements of people and pets. When someone moves, it causes interference in the Wi-Fi signal, which allows the outlet to notify the owner of the presence of a person in the room.

Roborock has sent its flagship S8 MaxV Ultra robotic vacuum cleaner into space
The robot vacuum cleaner was launched using a special stratostatic balloon filled with hydrogen. It was able to ascend into space to an altitude of approximately 36.5 km.
In weightlessness, the device demonstrated its capabilities thanks to internal modifications that allowed its systems to be integrated with the onboard computer. This provided remote control of features such as side brushes and
