Neom in Saudi Arabia will launch a fleet of electric water taxis
Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of a fleet of electric water cabs as part of the Neom megaproject. It includes an ambitious megalopolis The Line with a length of about 169 km and a height of about 488 meters.
The transportation network in the city of the future will be represented by electric shuttles and underground transit systems. Candela P-12 electric hydrofoil cabs are envisioned for crossing waterways.
This vehicle can accommodate up to 30 passengers and reach speeds of up to 46 km/h thanks to computer-controlled hydrofoils. The vessel is equipped with a 252 kWh battery and can operate for more than 2 hours on a single charge. The Candela P-12 is also characterized by low noise levels and a minimal carbon footprint.
A fleet of electric water cabs is expected to be delivered to Saudi Arabia in 2025 and 2026.
