Swedish startup Heart Aerospace has announced plans to conduct the first flight of its unusual electric airliner model ES-30 in 2028. The model is the embodiment of the “reserve-hybrid” concept, in which the main source of energy are batteries and electric motors. On a single charge, the ES-30 can cover a distance of up to 200 kilometers, and with activated motors - up to 400 kilometers. When the load is reduced, the range can reach 800 km. Takeoff is performed by electric motors, providing maximum torque, which allows the use of a minimum runway length of only 1,100 meters, which is convenient for Europe. In addition, the airplane received 2 turbogenerators running on aviation fuel, which can be switched on in emergency situations. The authors of the project believe that due to its small capacity (only 30 passengers), such an airplane can become a convenient solution for business transportation and local flights. In preparation for the launch, Heart Aerospace attracted $145,000,000 in investments and received orders for the construction of 250 ES-30 airliners.
