The sneakers feature the new SpeedARC midsole. According to Wolverine, the sneaker's design is based on “spiral shapes” that harmonize with a layered nylon plate. It provides cushioning and energy return, making every step effortless while hiking. When creating the shoe, the design team was inspired by the cushioning system of high clearance vehicles to create a shoe capable of converting an unstable surface into energy for rebounding.
The new model also incorporates FloatPro + SC supercritical foam with nitrogen injection for improved cushioning and traction. The outsole consists of 2 separate intermediate layers separated by a nylon flex plate. They create a unique stabilizing platform for hikers. In addition, the sneakers have a Matryx one-piece upper and a knitted boot collar, while the dynamic locking system allows for easy lace-up adjustments.
The SpeedARC Surge Boa sneakers are available in men's and women's sizes, priced at $290
