Developed inside Sony's Computer Science lab, the mechanized arm helps improve the motor functions of pianists' hands through passive training. The exoskeleton's main task is to load the musician's hands just before playing.
Robotic hand itself does not increase the range of motion of the fingers and does not change the anatomical characteristics of the hand, but helps the brain to form new neural connections and fix a complex exercise at the level of muscle memory.
However, the difference of exercising with the exoskeleton is noticeable if you load your arm with complex and fast compositions. Training only with fast but simple movements as well as with complex but slow movements has no effect on the pianist's skills
