German startup Dynamic Drives Giessen has announced the development of a cargo vehicle called Intelectra. It combines the functions of a truck with pedals and a motorized cart. This solution is designed for the transportation of small loads in urban areas. Intelectra has a body resembling a pickup truck. It can hold more than 450 kg of cargo. The design of the electric cart resembles a conventional bicycle or tricycle. Intelectra E-cargo has an aluminum frame and a 120 cm long rear cargo area. High wheels with plastic rims provide stability and maneuverability. The pedal drive allows the driver to sit upright while operating the handlebars. One of the interesting features of the Intelectra is that when the pedals are turned, electrical energy is generated by a 250 W generator located between the handlebars. While driving, a 1,400 watt battery is recharged, which powers the 2 rear 125 watt motorized wheels. The intelligent control system allows the engine power to be adjusted according to the intensity of pedal pressure. The absence of chains and belts in the transmission reduces wear and tear, and the manufacturer guarantees a mileage of 30,000 km without the need for maintenance. Intelectra can travel up to 100 km on a single charge, and the charging time is only 1.5 hours. The maximum speed of the vehicle is up to 25 km/h. The Intelectra price starts at $10,171. Deliveries are scheduled for the fall of this year.
