In Munich, a basketball court with a giant screen instead of a floor
At the BMW Park stadium in Munich, a unique basketball court with a huge screen covering has appeared. This project has no analogues in the world.
Its area is almost 580 square meters. The floor screen has “limitless possibilities of animation” thanks to millions of built-in LEDs, which allows you to show videos, information about the course of games and other visual messages. Bayern say it is a new standard in entertainment and advertising.
The new coverage also allows for the integration of athletes' movement data. Players will be able to track their speed in real time and receive feedback from the coach during the game. The elastic surface reduces stress on the joints, while special ceramic elements improve grip on the shoes, ensuring comfort during the game.
The Munich stadium will be the first in the world to use the unusual surface permanently.
