HUAWEI has completes construction of its huge center near Shanghai
Huawei has completed the construction of its new research center called HUAWEI Lianqiu Lake R&D Center. It is located in the suburbs of Shanghai on an area of 1,052 hectares.
This center is significantly larger than both Apple Park and Microsoft Redmond Campus combined. It will be used for research and development related to HiSilicon chipsets, wireless technologies (5G/6G), smartphones, automobiles and digital energy.
Construction began in September 2021 and lasted over three years. Total investment in the project exceeded 10,000,000,000 yuan. Located in the Yangtze River Delta, the Centre includes more than 40,000 premises designed to accommodate 35,000 staff, including 800 foreign specialists.
The campus is divided into 8 districts connected by roads, flyovers and bridges. In the near future, it is planned to launch the train.
