Chinese surgeon remotely removed a lung tumor 5,000 km away
Dr. Luo Qingquan from Shanghai Hospital performed a lung cancer excision surgery using a robotic system. The patient was 5,000 kilometers away from the doctor in Kashgar, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Dr. Luo Qingquan's team prepared thoroughly for the operation. In March last year, they performed China's first remote surgery on an animal in Shanghai, and only a year later they repeated the same operation on a human. And helped them in this robot-surgeon with support for 5G-connectivity.
The doctors needed only an hour for such an undoubtedly complex operation. Afterwards, Luo Qingquan expressed his hope that robotic systems will become more widespread and will be able to help thousands of people living in remote parts of the country.

The world’s first automated dental robot has put a crown on a human
The development of the robot belongs to the Boston-based company Perceptive Technologies. The procedure was about 8 times faster than a human dentist could do it.
The robot uses a handheld volumetric scanner to create a detailed 3D model of the mouth, including the gums, teeth and nerves beneath their surface. The optical coherence tomography method eliminates harmful X-rays, as only light rays a
