Chinese superfast train on magnetic cushion passed the test
China has completed demonstration tests of a new superfast transportation system - a magnetic cushion train (UHS). It is capable of reaching speeds of up to 1,000 km/h.
The test was conducted in a 2 km long pipeline in a low vacuum environment. According to the manufacturing company, all systems worked correctly during the test, and the maximum speed and suspension height remained within the specified limits.
The tests took place in Shanxi Province and showed that the train provides controlled movement, stable suspension and safe stopping. The ability to maintain a vacuum environment over long distances and the efficiency of navigation control were also confirmed.
Construction of the UHS Maglev transportation system began in 2022 to integrate aerospace technology with rail transportation. The magnetic cushion train is expected to reduce the travel time between Beijing and Shanghai to 1.5 hours. By car, it currently takes 12 hours to get there.

Alien neighborhood of Bolvoningen in the Netherlands
Unusual houses-spheres were built back in the 80s according to the design of local architect Dries Kreikamp, who won a competition for affordable social housing projects. One of their features is the modular construction, thanks to which everything can be quickly dismantled and moved to another place, assembled in a day (but in the end, no one did so).
The area of each of the 50 houses is 55 m²,
