China has conducted groundbreaking tests using a fleet of 10 autonomous machines to pave a 158-kilometer stretch of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway. This world-first project involved one asphalt paver, six 13-ton rollers, and three 30-ton rollers working in synchronized formation (1+3+3+3), completing the job several times faster than conventional methods. While human oversight is still required, the goal is full automation in the near future. This innovation marks a significant step toward the future of autonomous infrastructure development.
