China announced the world’s first multipurpose two-legged robot Tron 1
Chinese company LimX Dynamics has unveiled Tron 1, the world's first multimodal bipedal robot. It offers many unique capabilities.
The new robot is designed to be used as a test platform for motion control and AI research. The robot offers 3 interchangeable limbs for different types of locomotion: a rounded rubberized protrusion for quick work (Point-Foot), to mimic a natural human gait, and wheels for obstacle-crossing movement.
An automatic hardware recognition system detects the installed support and switches to the appropriate motion control software. Users can control the robot with a wireless remote control or program it in Python for autonomous operation.
Among its other features: height: 854 mm, weight less than 20 kg, 12th generation Intel Core i3 processor and more than 2 hours of operation on 1 charge.
The price of the Tron 1 starts at $15,000 as part of a limited introductory promotion.
