Carbonhand robotic glove helps people with weakened hands
Bioservo has introduced the Carbonhand soft robotic glove. It is designed to help people with impaired grip, osteoarthritis or myositis.
The glove is designed to perform everyday tasks such as watering plants, filling a kettle and peeling potatoes. Carbonhand is equipped with pressure sensors that activate motors when needed to hold objects securely. They pull artificial tendons, providing a “natural and dynamic grip” with up to 20 Newtons of force per finger.
The index finger and little finger remain exposed, while the thumb, middle finger and ring finger fit into the glove. The compact power pack can be worn around the waist or back, and settings are controlled via the mobile app.
The Carbonhand was initially only offered in Sweden, Norway and Germany, but is now available in the US. Prices for the device have not been disclosed yet.

Nezha-SeaDarе. An airplane, a drone, an underwater vehicle in one suit
The development of Shanghai Jiaotong University's Nezha-SeaDart can take off vertically from land or water and land on either surface. It can fly horizontally using its wings and dive underwater using eight engines.
Four propellers are used for vertical takeoff and landing, and they also help the underwater engines when the device is moving underwater. A triangular wing generates enough lift to k

Researchers have developed flexible, soft robotic actuators
Northwestern University engineers have created a new soft and flexible device that allows robots to move by expanding and contracting, similar to how human muscles work. To showcase their new actuator, the researchers used it to create two different types of robots: a cylindrical, worm-like soft robot and an artificial bicep.
In experiments, the cylindrical robot was able to navigate through tigh
