Baidu received Hong Kong's license to test unmanned cars
- Its robotaxi service Apollo Go has been licensed
- It has been authorized to test 10 autonomous vehicles
- The authorization covers North Lantau
- The regulator's license is valid until December 8, 2029
- This will be Baidu's first test outside mainland China
- Apollo Go service is already operational in a number of cities in China
- The largest fleet (400 units) rides in the city of Wuhan
- Hong Kong has been promoting the idea of robotaxis for about seven years
- Only recently have the authorities allowed extensive tests
