An enthusiast has developed a Raspberry Pi-based “third eye” device for the blind
Dr. Khairud Alam has created an innovative device using a Raspberry Pi microcomputer. The novelty, called “third eye”, will allow users to better navigate in space.
According to the developer, the device functions on the basis of artificial intelligence and includes a sensor module Xiao ESP32S3, which transmits data to the Raspberry Pi. This creates a textual description of the environment, which is then converted into speech. Users can hear the information through headphones, which greatly improves their ability to perceive their surroundings.
This project has already aroused interest among specialists in the field of rehabilitation and technology for visually impaired people.
