Florida-based Sea Cheetah has announced plans to produce hydrogen-fueled screen gliders. These aircraft are capable of efficiently transporting cargo and passengers in coastal areas, offering greater speed than boats and less fuel consumption than airplanes. Although the concept is still in its early stages, the airframe is expected to have a sweeping wing with upward-curved tips and 2-fan thrust. It is also planned to use ducting, electric fans and pontoons to store hydrogen fuel. However, questions remain open as to whether the hydrogen will be used in a liquid or gaseous state and how exactly it will be used - in internal combustion engines or hydrogen cells.
