Eeve, the startup that developed the unique garden robot Willow X, has announced the upcoming commercial release of its device. Willow X is positioned as a multifunctional garden assistant, capable of not only mowing the lawn, but also performing many other tasks.

The robot is equipped with 2 articulated arms that can pick up fallen leaves, remove fruit from trees and even weed flower beds. Willow X is also capable of fetching drinks and when finished, it can return to the docking station to recharge on its own.

The Willow X prototype, unveiled in 2022, had no built-in battery and was controlled by a remote control. Now, the startup has integrated a 600Wh battery, which provides up to 8 hours of operation with 3 hours of charging. The robot is also equipped with Wi-Fi and optional 4G connectivity, and its 4 wheels have motors for rough terrain.

Willow X uses depth cameras and an internet-enhanced localization system for navigation, and its processing power is provided by an NVIDIA Orin chip. A unique artificial intelligence system allows users to train the robot by showing it the desired actions. The trained tasks can be uploaded to a cloud library available to other owners.

Willow X is already available for pre-order at a price of around $10,000, with the first run limited to 150 units
