Unlike most modern robots designed to perform routine tasks in warehouses and factories, the manufacturer aims to develop companion robots capable of becoming part of a person's everyday life.
The first prototype has been unofficially named Yogi. It has proportions reminiscent of a child. Its rounded body and large head give it a friendly look. The startup sees it not just as a robot, but as a character that can become part of everyday life.
The second prototype, Speedy, is designed with a simplified design and is focused on faster market adoption. Initially, Yogi and Speedy were not designed to perform multiple tasks, their primary function is to provide communication, with capabilities gradually expanding as technology advances.
Cartwheel Robotics focuses on the social intelligence of robots. To do this, they are implementing artificial intelligence to provide a variety of interactions, including verbal communication and movements that create individuality in the robots.
The company plans to deliver about 20 different Speedy models to museums and science centers over the next year to demonstrate a new perspective on the role of robots in everyday life, focusing on the emotional component of human-machine interaction
