AWS will launch the platform on July 15, with Anthropic becoming one of the key partners in the project.
The marketplace will allow startups and developers to directly offer their AI agents to AWS customers, while enterprises will be able to browse, install, and select agents tailored to their needs from a single platform.
AWS will charge a small commission on the revenue startups earn from agent installations, similar to the App Store model.
The pricing model will likely resemble SaaS, where startups can directly charge customers for using their agents.
Additionally, AWS is developing its own coding AI agent called Kiro, which may also be presented at the summit.
For Anthropic, the AWS marketplace opens access to millions of customers using AWS cloud services. For startups, it presents an opportunity to gain greater visibility and new revenue streams. For enterprises, the marketplace simplifies the discovery and deployment of AI solutions without the need for building from scratch.
AWS is not the first company to launch an AI agent marketplace. In April, Google Cloud introduced its AI Agent Marketplace, and in May, Microsoft launched its Agent Store as part of Microsoft 365 Copilot. Similar platforms also exist from Salesforce and ServiceNow. However, the success of these marketplaces for small startups and businesses seeking specialized agents remains unclear.
