Airbus Racer will accelerate over 400 km/h. It has three propellers and a hybrid propulsion system.

Airbus has launched a two-year flight test cycle for its fastest helicopter, the Racer: on April 25, it made its first 30-minute flight in Marignane, France.

While most civil helicopters have speeds in the range of 170-260 km/h, the cruising speed of the Airbus Racer will exceed 400 km/h. The Racer’s propulsion system is hybrid: it is expected to reduce fuel consumption by 20%.
